One of Johnson and Johnsons best-selling products is their talcum powder. However, the company put the deadly material asbestos in this powder. Because of this, a number of people have developed cancer. J&J is accused of knowingly selling products with asbestos, and not warning customers. That brings us to a case in New Jersey. Four individuals who developed mesothelioma sued the pharmaceutical giant for their negligence. Attorneys for the victims say J&J is responsible for this completely preventable disease.

J&J claims there the product only contained non-asbestos versions of different minerals. They have brought on medical experts to dispute the link between the disease and the talcum powder.J&J also suggested several times throughout their closing arguments that the plaintiffs “created” the evidence against Johnson and Johnson. The judge struck these closing arguments from the recorded because of these accusations.

This has not been a good year for Johnson and Johnson. They have been facing a number of lawsuits over their products causing cancer, and their role in the opioid epidemic. So far, 2019 has been the year for holding big companies responsible for their negligence. If you or a loved one has been harmed due to a company’s negligence, you should contact an attorney as soon as possible.
