What is Paraquat?
Since the 1960s, paraquat has been used as an herbicide since many weeds and grasses became resistant to most herbicides. Since then, many countries have recognized its toxicity and opted to ban the chemical altogether.
Despite this, paraquat is still heavily used in the United States. Users must obtain a commercial license to apply the chemical, but many farmers and laborers are now experiencing the long-term impacts of paraquat exposure.
