SA Man Killed After Speeding And Distracted Driving Crash

Saturday morning, a man driving near West Loop 1604, near Wiseman Blvd was killed in an 18-wheeler crash. Around 7 a.m. police say Jose M. Moreno crashes into the rear of a parked 18-wheeler with his pick-up truck. The 18-wheeler was waiting for a client to unload, when Moreno crashed into him, trapping himself under the 18-wheeler.

Firefighters rushed to the scene and attempted life-saving measures. While this was occurring, police say Moreno’s cell phone was actively playing a youtube video. Police also say they believe Moreno was speeding. Distracted driving is one of the most dangerous things a person can do.
