The Data Breach: How Did This Happen?

A woman was arrested by the FBI an on Monday. Paige A. Thompson, a 33-year-old software engineer has been accused of stealing the data from Capital One credit card applications. The alleged theft apparently accorded from March 12 to July 17th. If Mrs. Thompson is found guilty, she could face up to 5 years in prison and $250,000 in fines. The largest amount of data stolen was from those who applied for a credit card between the years of 2005 and 2019.
