Texas 18-Wheeler Slams into Greyhound Bus

At least six people are injured in a crash that happened in The Woodlands, Texas yesterday. The crash involving an 18-wheeler and a Greyhound tour bus on I-45 happened around 5 a.m. State Troopers investigating the crash say the rig driver was hurt in the crash but is not in critical condition. Five of the 26 passengers from the bus were transported to a local hospital to seek treatment for their injuries.

The bus was leaving Dallas, bound to Houston when it was struck by the 18-wheeler hauling water bottles. How the crash was caused is still under investigation. According to the Nation Highway Traffic Safety Administration, in 2016 over 433,000 crashes involving big trucks were reported to the police. 4,317 of those people were killed, and over 116,000 of those people sustained injuries. Over 8% of crashes in the U.S involve large trucks and Texas is among the highest when it comes to deaths involving large trucks.
