Biography:Mr. Adkisson completed his undergraduate studies in 1978 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from University of Texas and received his JD in 1982 from St. Mary’s University, School of Law. He was admitted to the State Bar of Texas that same year and became a trial lawyer with the law firm that previously employed him as a law clerk. Today, he is with the Begum Law Group and practices several areas of law focusing largely on areas of practice involving individuals that have been hurt and are vulnerable. Though he has a busy private practice, David finds the time to willingly offer pro bono legal services to the less fortunate among us. Typical of someone with the personality of an advocate, David Adkisson does not often focus on himself. When asked directly about his professional achievements, he speaks with humility. He does not easily admit that he has distinguished himself among lawyers. David has indeed done just that. He is listed in the Martindale-Hubbell Registry with an AV rating, the highest attainable. Mr. Adkisson has also been listed in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers (2001 & 2002), the National Registry of Who’s Who (Life Member) and “Super Lawyers” Texas Monthly. In addition, Mr. Adkisson has had several multi-million dollar verdicts. David Adkisson of the Begum Law Group is very unique among attorneys. David did not enter law school wondering if law was the right place in life for him. He knew without doubt that becoming an attorney would allow him to express his innate desire to be an advocate. He began his career in law in 1980 working as a senior law clerk for a firm in San Antonio. He remained in that position until he graduated from law school in 1982. By working as a law clerk, David was able to acquire a much deeper understanding of the daily processes and details of the practice of law. The special insights arising from his experience allow him now to be a better attorney for the clients that depend on him. Mr. Adkisson was born and raised in Texas. Originally from Greenville, Texas, he moved to San Antonio in 1979. David greatly enjoys music and plays guitar. He is an accomplished musician having played in orchestra and with a jazz band. As a hobby, David is an avowed crossword puzzle addict with a particular fondness for the extremely difficult, New York Times Crossword Puzzle. As in other areas of his life he enjoys the challenge and always succeeds, where many fail. David resides in San Antonio with Fran, his wife of 28 years. He and his wife have two adult children, Lauren and Christopher. |
